Diagrind wheels are impregnated or plated with either diamond or Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) in order to provide an effective, efficient method to grind materials that are extraordinarily resistantto conventional abrasives.
Diamond and CBN Superabrasives have specific applications in terms of material to be ground. Diamond, for instance, is extremely effective in grinding carbide, glass and ceramic. CBN is generally used when grinding highspeed and tool steels with a Rockwell "C" hardness of more than 50.
Diagrind has over 25 years of experience in the Superabrasive internal grinding industry. Our initial line of diamond bonded mandrels on carbide shanks remains largely intact..an impressive feat considering the ever-changing industrial environment of the past years. |

With the introduction of the synthetic Superabrasive CBN and its proven steel-cutting abilities, Diagrind created a line mirroring the diamond wheels and using the same standard Diagrind bond (VM, or vitreous metal bond) in order to expand our services to yet another problem area in internal grinding.

- Precision mandrels with diameters of 0.1182" to 0.2364" maintain a tolerance of +0/-0.00031"
- Precision mandrels with diameters of 0.2365" to 0.394" maintain a tolerance of +0/-0.00035"
- Due to grain exposure and an open bond structure, precision mandrels require very little pressure; an important factor in drilling small holes.
- Precision mandrels may be dressed using our Precision Dressing Stick (Lower-right - Stock No. C2059999)
